They say lying on a bed of roses feels amazing. I said yes… and you know why?
Take a closer look at the keynote lineup for the Women’s Leadership Conference 2025 organised by Singapore (Cambodia) International Academy (SCIA). I was the only male keynote speaker invited by Jeff Tan and Wee Pin Tan, Chairman of Singapore Business Chamber in Cambodia Association (SBCCA), surrounded by a powerhouse of inspiring women (Jessica Pang, Adrienne Ravez-Men, Ratana Phurik-Callebaut CFA, Jean Foo, Rosanich SOU, Emily Yu, Omouy, DJ Nana, Sovan Kong).
When I told my wife, she smiled and said, “You’re Superman among Wonder Women.” I disagreed. I’m just a regular, not-so-good-looking guy lucky enough to be in the right garden and somehow ended up looking like a rose myself. 🌹
I had the privilege of building on the insights of these brilliant women to introduce the idea of cultivating systems thinking habits to strengthen our human-centered intelligence in the age of AI especially on understanding how our mental model affects our current reality and our future.
What made it even more meaningful was the wave of people who came up to me afterward, sharing how much they enjoyed the interactive activities and how the session sparked new learning and reflection within them. It was one of the most humbling experiences I’ve had.
And just when I thought it couldn’t get better, the organiser walked up to me and said, “We want more of you!” (Thankfully, he was a man, so I’m still safe 😄). What a rose-scented day to remember.
I also wanted to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to the people who had taken great care of me, as if I am a beautiful rose in their garden, throughout the last few days. Sopheak TUY (សុភ័ក្ត្រ ទុយ), Mark Jayson Lozada and Jor Patricio. Thank you so much for the little things that you have for me, I really appreciate it a lot and I am looking forward to interacting and working with you again in the near future.
